What is DREAMcast?

CAPA hosts a DREAMcast gala each November (usually the week before Thanksgiving). It is a spectacular charity event featuring our CAPA Companies performing songs from their “dream roles”.

What Charity benefits from DREAMcast?

For the past few years, we have chosen “The Christmas Store” that provides new toys at Christmas to children in low-income families.

Is DREAMCAST mandatory for Company members?

It is optional, but highly encouraged.  We find that the only students that do not participate were already committed to a school event.

How do CAPA Company members participate in DREAMcast?

Junior Company members will perform in group songs chosen by the CAPA team. Senior and Elite Companies can choose to sing a solo or group song. All songs will be approved by our Music Director.

How do students prepare for the DREAMcast performance?

Junior Company members learn the music and choreography in class. The music and choreo will be on the Google drive to practice at home.

Senior and Elite Companies will each perform in class “Master Workshop” style and receive feedback and coaching from the Music Director.  The majority of the rehearsing must happen at home.

What is the dress code for DREAMcast?

Junior Companies will be given a dress code from the CAPA team based on the song chosen.

Seniors and Elites may choose to dress like the character who performs their dream song or they can dress as they would for an audition.
